Terms of service

Last updated 10 October 2026

These terms cover how merchants use CurShip. They are written in plain language on purpose.

Draft for review. This page is not final and will be checked by a lawyer before CurShip opens to merchants.

What CurShip is

CurShip is software that connects your online store to courier companies. You use it to compare courier prices, book collections, print labels, track parcels and handle returns and claims.

CurShip is not a courier and not an insurer. The courier you choose carries the parcel under that courier's own terms. We pass your booking to them and show you what they report back.

Your account

  • You must give accurate details about your business and keep them up to date.
  • You are responsible for everyone you invite to your account and for keeping sign-in details private.
  • Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.

Wallet, prices and payment

  • Labels are paid from a prepaid wallet. You top it up through our payment provider; we never see or store your card number.
  • The payment provider's fee for a top-up is added to what you pay and shown before you pay. Your wallet receives the payment less the fee the provider actually charged.
  • Money in your wallet is for CurShip's services: labels, re-weigh charges and our fees. You can ask for it back from the Wallet page, with a reason. CurShip reviews each request and may decline it. An approved withdrawal is refunded to the card or cards you topped up with; it is not paid out in cash or to a bank account.
  • Withdrawal limits: at least R100 per request; money from a top-up can be withdrawn 7 days after it reached your wallet; one request at a time and at most 2 a month; one request can take up to 75% of your wallet unless you ask for the full amount and say why. Paystack's top-up fee isn't returned, and only money you paid in by card can be refunded.
  • If a card payment for a top-up is disputed with the bank, the disputed amount is taken from your wallet while the bank decides. If your wallet holds less, the rest is owed and you can't book labels or withdraw until it is paid. If CurShip wins the dispute, the money goes back into your wallet.
  • The price shown when you book is what is taken from your wallet. Prices include VAT unless we say otherwise.
  • If you cancel a shipment before the courier collects it, the label cost goes back into your wallet.
  • Your CurShip plan, if you are on a paid one, is billed monthly. You can change or cancel it at any time; it stays active until the end of the paid month.

Booking parcels

  • Give the true size, weight and contents of every parcel. Couriers re-weigh and re-measure parcels, and charge the difference if a parcel is bigger or heavier than booked. That charge is taken from your wallet. You can dispute it in CurShip if the courier got it wrong.
  • Pack parcels so they survive normal handling.
  • Do not send anything the courier refuses to carry or the law forbids, such as dangerous goods, cash or illegal items. Each courier publishes its own list.
  • Delivery times are the courier's estimates, not guarantees.

Loss, damage and claims

Couriers include a limited amount of cover per parcel. If a parcel is worth more, you can declare its value when you book, and the courier charges a fee to cover it. Cover is provided by the courier, not by CurShip.

If a parcel is lost or damaged, you open a claim in CurShip and we send it to the courier with your evidence. The courier decides the claim under its own rules, including its deadlines, which can be as short as 48 hours after delivery. Approved payouts go into your wallet.

Your customers' information

To deliver an order, CurShip handles your customers' names, phone numbers and addresses on your behalf. You are responsible for having the right to share that information. How we handle it is explained in our Privacy policy.

Fair use

  • Do not use CurShip to break the law, to send spam, or to harm couriers, customers or other merchants.
  • Do not try to get around security, copy the service, or overload it.
  • Do not submit false claims or false disputes.

We may pause or close an account that does any of these, after telling you why where we are allowed to.

When things go wrong

We work to keep CurShip available and correct, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted, and we depend on couriers and other providers that we do not control. Where the law allows, our responsibility to you is limited to the fees you paid us for the shipment or month in question. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under South African consumer law.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using CurShip and close your account at any time. Parcels already booked are still delivered and still follow these terms. A wallet balance is not paid out when you stop; it stays available if you come back.

Changes and law

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you by email or in the app before the change takes effect. These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
